Two Guys On A Mission
Willie Shaw and I (Michael) are happy to announce that our trip to Ghana is on the 28th of March through the 4th of May! As of now, through your support, we've raised enough money for our plane tickets, which is $1400 each. (Thank you so much for your help and prayers!) We are purchasing our tickets on the 28th of February. Currently, we are trying to raise $1200 for our living expenses in Ghana. Below is a list of things we hope to accomplice while we there
(God Willing!)
Those are our to-do lists. Most of them I had lined up over the Phone which makes it easier on Willie and myself.
We want to thank All Of You for not only your support financially but your prayesr and support over Myself and Willie's Wife Kelsey, and kids Little Willie and Wilder as weI embark on this journey.
It’s been awhile since I updated, let me take a minute to rewind. With the pandemic Willie decided to stay home with his family. Hopefully he will be able to join me when it's over. Getting out of the US was crazy! I had to take a Covid test 72 hours prior to traveling. Feels like they scratch your brain! Anyway, I got the test, packed my bags, said my goodbyes and headed to the airport. Making it through security and customs was a breeze, my flight left on time. At this point I thought I was good to go. My bags were checked, I was on the plane, the flight was smooth and then.... my layover happened. From the time I landed in Atlanta to the time my flight was scheduled to leave Atlanta my Covid test extended past the 72 hour requirement so the airline refused to let me board my flight! I tried to plead my case but no one would listen to a word I had to say. Frustrated and exhausted I curled up on the floor to try to get some rest. The next morning I flew back to Seattle while family searched for a place for me to get another Covid test. The first Covid test was easy but getting tested twice was a whole other story. For your second test you have to have a doctor, unfortunately mine had moved to Alaska. After making several phone calls a friend was able to get me an appointment with a local doctor so I could have my referral to be swabbed again.
This time I was ready. I booked a flight from Seattle to Amsterdam so I wouldn't have to worry about my Covid text expiring during my flights.
